Alinto, the email security solutions specialist acquires the Swiss company Mailcleaner to enhance its European development

MailCleaner joins the Alinto Group – a European email security solutions provider – to offer the international market a complete suite of solutions around secured email communications adapted to all business segments. This transaction comes just a few months after Alinto has taken over the open source SOGo project and confirms the software vendor’s ambitions to cover the entire email value chain and establish itself in the international market.

The Alinto Group confirms its ambitions in Switzerland.

Following Cleanmail AG acquisition in 2016, Zurich area originated, Alinto became the leading provider of antispam services in German speaking Switzerland. With a sovereign cloud-based approach, and thanks to a network of over a hundred of local resellers, the company wants to strengthen its presence in French speaking Switzerland. To this end, the group recently acquired Fastnet SA, a company based in the canton of Vaud that publishes the MailCleaner solution.

This investment confirms Alinto’s ambition to play a major role in the international market, consolidates its presence in Switzerland thanks to this new office in French speaking Switzerland, and offers a solution that meets the email security needs of organizations large and small.

Alinto now operates four data centers in Switzerland (Zürich, Valais, Vaud, Neuchâtel) and has a multidisciplinary and multilingual team. Cleanmail AG, which offers Alinto’s services in Switzerland, will also expand its partners program. For its part, Fastnet SA brings a historic customer base and a team of recognized specialists.

MailCleaner x Alinto: Providing email-related services for all companies

MailCleaner and Alinto have a common based antispam technology. Moreover, MailCleaner offers an open-source version as well as the possibility to install the application software on-premises. The French software provider Alinto can thus meet the specific needs of those companies that want to keep control over their servers and sovereignty over their data, in a business area where access to data is very critical.

The open-source technology makes possible to offer the market a fully free software-based email suite to complement the SOGo email server. Alinto thus reaffirms its strong positioning on sovereignty and associated challenges.

Alinto strives to offer complete solutions for all organizations, and together with MailCleaner, Alinto now covers all businesses and administrations, from micro-enterprises to large corporations, with on-premises installations or fully hosted solutions running in sovereign clouds. The integration of the two companies also underlines the group’s desire to conquer the European market.

“Our goal is to strengthen our presence in Switzerland and internationally and to cover a broader range of company sizes. Thanks to MailCleaner, we will be able to offer a more comprehensive, powerful offering and address new markets. In addition, MailCleaner has an open-source component that allows us to offer a complete open source palette around SOGomail,“, explains Philippe Gilbert, Executive Chairman of Alinto.

“Our historical core business is providing Internet access. However, we needed to find a powerful anti-spam solution very quickly to secure our own business and that of our customers. Since no solution on the market appealed to us, we developed our own anti-spam software, which became our main product MailCleaner. The merger with Alinto allows us to join forces and achieve a stronger sales coverage. A great opportunity for companies of all sizes to have access to well-secured email solutions!” emphasises Olivier Bourgeois, founder, and CEO of Fastnet and now CTO of the Alinto Group.
